St. Louis – October 29, 2026 -- 9Line, a St. Louis emergency communications company, launched 9Line Pinpoint, a service that detects the location of 911 calls placed from cellphones inside a geofenced property and alerts on-site security teams within seconds.
The product targets a coverage gap. More than 80 percent of 911 calls now come from wireless devices, according to NENA: The 9-1-1 Association. Landlines and connected campus phone systems can already alert on-site staff, but cellphone calls have remained a blind spot.
Pinpoint reports caller position and passes security contacts to 911 centers
When someone dials 911 from a cellphone anywhere on a customer's property, the service notifies on-site teams of the caller's position, whether in a parking garage, a multi-story office building or a campus quad. It also shares the security team's contact information with the 911 center handling the call, so dispatchers know who is on site and can reach them directly.
JAMA Surgery data on 8-minute EMS arrival times frames the on-site pitch
A JAMA Surgery analysis of more than 1.7 million calls from 485 agencies found emergency medical service units average 8 minutes from 911 call to arrival on scene. Nearly 1 in 10 rural encounters waited almost half an hour. On a large property, an on-site team that knows the caller's location can begin aid before outside responders arrive and guide them to the right place, according to 9Line.
Co-founder and CEO Mark Turpin said that in the military "a medevac request begins with location," the principle on which the company was built.
Pinpoint targets schools, hospitals, utilities and stadiums
The service is built for organizations with large properties and multiple buildings, including schools and universities, hospitals and senior living communities, utilities, corporate and government campuses, and stadiums and public venues.
Pinpoint joins Dispatch and Echo in a base of more than 10,000 customers
9Line Dispatch delivers dispatchable locations for enterprise phone systems, backed by a 99.999% uptime commitment. 9Line Echo provides AI-based semantic analysis and call transcription.
