Munich – September 09, 2026 -- More than 300 delegates from Germany's 17 pharmacist chambers and associations will convene in Munich from September 15 to 17 for the German Pharmacists' Day (Deutscher Apothekertag, DAT) 2026, as the country's pharmacy reform moves from legislation into implementation.
ABDA president to brief press on pharmacy reform status September 14
ABDA, the Federal Union of German Associations of Pharmacists, has invited media to a press conference at the Munich Press Club (Marienplatz 22) on Monday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m., where president Thomas Preis will present findings from the association's new Apothekenklima-Index, a survey of pharmacy owners on the state of the healthcare sector and their businesses. The briefing, themed "The New Supply Role of Pharmacies," will also outline ABDA's professional-policy agenda ahead of the congress. The Apothekertag itself opens the same day at 1:00 p.m. in Hall A4 with remarks from Preis, followed by a greeting from Federal Health Minister Dr. Carsten Linnemann (CDU). A dedicated forum on September 16 at 2:00 p.m., titled "Better Care Together: The Future of Primary Care," will examine pharmacies' expanding role in frontline health services.
