Wörth am Rhein – September 12, 2026 -- Mercedes-Benz Trucks has delivered the first 27 battery-electric eActros 600 trucks to Amazon, with the e-commerce giant set to operate more than 50 of the vehicles across its German logistics network by the end of 2026.
Delivery marks first tranche of Amazon's largest-ever electric truck order
The handover forms part of a contract signed in early 2025 covering more than 200 eActros 600 units, Amazon's largest electric truck order to date. Most of the fleet will operate in the United Kingdom, where Mercedes-Benz Trucks began deliveries in late 2025. The trucks will run on Germany's so-called middle-mile routes, moving goods between logistics centers and urban areas.
The eActros 600 offers a 500-kilometer range on a single charge
The truck is built with three 207 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery packs for a total installed capacity of 621 kWh, with more than 95% of that capacity usable. It is rated for a combined gross vehicle weight of up to 44 tonnes and carries a payload of roughly 22 tonnes with a standard trailer in the EU. The model was named International Truck of the Year 2025 by a panel of 24 European commercial-vehicle journalists.
Amazon installs hundreds of truck charging stations to support rollout
Amazon is deploying hundreds of truck charging points across its European sites, enabling a 20% to 80% charge in just over an hour using 400 kW DC fast-charging infrastructure. The company is investing more than €1 billion in electrifying and decarbonizing its European transport network, including over €400 million in Germany specifically.
