Seoul – – October 06, 2026 -- Amorepacific secured two Top 10 Podium Award honors at the IFSCC Congress 2026 in Perth, Australia, for research applying deep learning and real-time sensing to skin aging prediction and sensory quantification.
Deep learning models predict heat-accelerated skin aging and ingredient efficacy
Researcher Eun-Jeong Choi of Amorepacific's R&I Center presented a study titled "Skin Aging in the Era of Global Boiling: Deep Learning-Guided Transcriptomic Signatures of Heat-Accelerated Aging," building on more than 20 years of heat-aging research. The work integrated transcriptomic analysis with deep learning to forecast skin aging progression, identify ingredients that restore age-related damage, and confirm their efficacy. The study was named a Top 10 Podium Fundamental Research Award honoree.
Electroluminescent sensing technology quantifies skin-formulation interaction in real time
Researcher Jeong Yu Lee presented "Electroluminescent Visualization of Skin Hydrodynamics for Digital Sensory Quantification," a technology that visualizes moisture distribution during product application while measuring electrical changes on skin. The method showed strong correlation with consumer sensory evaluations, converting subjective product experience into objective, measurable data. It earned a Top 10 Podium Applied Research Award honoree distinction.
AI video analysis maps sensitive-skin consumer preferences across Brazil and Mexico
Researcher Jinseob Shin of Amorepacific's Americas R&I Center presented AI-based video interview analysis comparing dermocosmetic barrier-repair moisturizers among consumers in Brazil and Mexico. Fast absorption, lightweight texture, and skin barrier benefits emerged as the primary drivers of consumer preference, combining AI-powered behavioral analysis with expressed perception data.
Amorepacific presented nine studies in total at the four-day congress, held September 28 to October 1 under the theme "Solving the Sustainable Beauty Equation." Brian Byung-Fhy Suh, CTO and Head of Amorepacific R&I Center, said the company aims to advance prediction, quantification, and data-driven consumer understanding through hybrid technologies combining skin science with AI and digital innovation.
