Indonesian IP authority recorded registration under Law No. 20 of 2016
Indonesia's Directorate General of Intellectual Property, part of the Ministry of Law, recorded the registration on 21 September 2026 under Application No. JID2026027569. The filing date was 27 March 2026. The protection period runs from 27 March 2026 to 27 March 2036 and is subject to renewal. The registration was made under Indonesia's Law No. 20 of 2016 concerning Marks and Geographical Indications.
Class 41 filing covers award ceremonies, conferences and cultural events
The registration covers the following services:
- Organisation of competitions and award ceremonies
- Organisation of conferences, exhibitions and competitions

ASEAN Records launched on 14 November 2024 during ASEAN Festival 2024. It describes itself as an independent regional record-keeping, verification and recognition platform. It certifies quantifiable, verifiable achievements by individuals, businesses, institutions and organisations through its own adjudication processes. The company says the trademark helps record holders, corporate partners and institutions identify the legitimate source of its certifications and official communications.
ASEAN Secretariat authorisation dated 1 December 2023 backs use of the "ASEAN" name
The ASEAN Secretariat gave written authorisation on 1 December 2023 (Reference No. CCAD/LSAD/UNA/2023/Vol.1/014) for use of "ASEAN" in the registered company name. Malaysia's Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living separately approved the name under Section 27(3) of the Companies Act 2016 (Reference No. P/S/2023/A/004396).

Sister company ASIA Records remains a separate legal entity without ASEAN authorisation
ASIA Records Sdn. Bhd. (Company Registration No. 202501049089 / 1650497-V) launched on 22 October 2025 as a continental-level recognition platform covering Asia. It shares founders and management with ASEAN Records but is separately incorporated, with its own corporate identity, record register and adjudication framework. The ASEAN Secretariat authorisation applies only to ASEAN Records Sdn. Bhd. and does not extend to ASIA Records.
