New York – September 15, 2026 -- AXA XL has appointed Rana Gillmon to a newly created role, Head of Private Equity Client Relations, Americas, tasked with deepening the insurer's ties to private equity firms and their portfolio companies.

The position is designed to align AXA XL's risk management offerings with the operational and portfolio-level needs of private equity clients across the Americas. Gillmon will act as the primary point of contact for these clients, working alongside regional and global underwriting teams to structure tailored insurance solutions.
Gillmon brings 25 years of insurance and private equity experience
Gillmon joined AXA XL in 2022 from Chubb, where she served as a Global Client Executive managing key accounts in the North America Major Accounts Division. She previously spent 16 years at Marsh, including a stint as Portfolio Manager in the firm's Private Equity Mergers & Acquisitions Group, and led Marsh's incoming multinational business team in Dubai, overseeing placements across the Gulf Cooperative Council region.
Executive says appointment strengthens AXA XL's private equity footprint
Matt O'Malley, AXA XL's Chief Client & Distribution Officer in the Americas, said Gillmon's appointment marks a step forward in how the insurer serves the private equity sector, citing her client relationships and experience leading cross-functional teams. Gillmon will work directly with John Liantonio, AXA XL's Chief Underwriting Officer for Private Equity, to build out the business line.
