Beijing Marriott Marquis Hosts China Open Delegation After Opening

Beijing – – October 13, 2026 -- Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel has completed hosting the China Open delegation less than a month after opening on September 15, 2026, using its 666 guest rooms and suites to accommodate players, coaches, officials and event staff.

Hotel received tournament groups from late September

The property began welcoming delegation members in late September. It describes the assignment as one of the larger international sports delegations it has hosted since opening, and as a test of its group-reception capabilities. Tournament organizers recognized its operational organization and service execution during the opening phase, according to the hotel.

Dedicated team built group workflows around match schedules

The hotel set up a tournament service team in advance and introduced several group-specific measures:

  • Consolidated check-in and express check-out channels for group arrivals and departures.
  • Flexible housekeeping windows with do-not-disturb options aligned with jet lag and match schedules.
  • Extended hours at South Market All-Day Dining and Kan Kan Lobby Lounge, with meals suited to athletes' dietary needs.
  • Coordinated access to the 24-hour fitness center and the 25-meter indoor heated pool.

The hotel says it handled concentrated group arrivals during peak periods while maintaining service for other guests. Its inventory includes about 3,500 square meters of meeting and banquet space and three dining venues. The M Club on the 17th floor offers breakfast, all-day light bites and express check-in or check-out for eligible members and executive floor guests.

Olympic Green location sits near tennis venue and metro lines

The hotel is on the North Extension of the Beijing Central Axis in Chaoyang District, within the Olympic Green. It is a short walk from Olympic Park Station on Metro Lines 8 and 15 and a short drive from the National Tennis Center. The Olympic Green area also includes the National Stadium, the National Aquatics Center and the China National Convention Center.

General Manager Sander van Delden called the event "a meaningful test of our facilities and service." He said the hotel will use its Olympic Green location to pursue sports events, conventions and business travel. The hotel plans to deepen cooperation with local sports and convention partners.
