Bluon Launches HVAC Asset Manager Covering 35M Model Numbers

Irvine – October 13, 2026 -- Bluon has launched Asset Manager, a feature that enriches historical HVAC equipment records using a proprietary dataset of more than 35 million unique model numbers across 270 OEMs dating back to 1980.

Bluon claims 99.9% accuracy against error-prone AI-generated equipment data

The company says its dataset is 99.9% accurate. It contrasts this with AI-generated equipment specifications, which it describes as limited and subject to very high error rates. Bluon can enrich the vast majority of historical records with full model specifications, equipment age, warranty status, original manuals, common problems, complete bills of material, part specifications and replacement part options.

Contractors with thousands of bare model numbers can mine them for sales leads

Many contractors hold thousands, or even millions, of model numbers or unprocessed nameplate photos with no further detail. Once enriched, those records can be used to plan inventory for maintenance and service agreements and to identify customers with R-22 equipment that can be retrofitted. They can also flag lower-SEER systems for upgrades and target customers and regions by equipment specification. Bluon lists lead generation, more profitable service contracts, smarter dispatching and better first-time fix rates as expected benefits.

Each unit is checked against Bluon's database for equipment type, tonnage, refrigerant type and charge, efficiency rating, number of circuits, filter and belt sizes, compressor oil type, manufacture date and estimated warranty status. The output also includes original manuals, wiring diagrams, parts lists and cross-reference part options.

Users can import lists, grant field service management access or scan nameplates

Contractors and portfolio managers can import historical equipment lists or give Bluon access to their field service management (FSM) account for automatic enrichment. Technicians can add new equipment on each job by scanning the nameplate through the Bluon app, the Bluon plugin or their native FSM platform.

"You give us your list of model numbers and we return actionable intelligence on each piece of equipment," said Peter Capuciati, CEO of Bluon.

Asset Manager is available now to Bluon for Business customers.
