London – September 15, 2026 -- BRAHMA AI has secured a 2026 Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for its AI-based face replacement and performance-preserving post-production system, placing the AI-native firm alongside Disney Research, Rising Sun Pictures and Digital Domain as the only non-legacy studio recipient.
Emmy panel honors technology that preserves performer authenticity under changing conditions
The award recognizes systems capable of altering a performer's appearance while holding natural expression, movement, lighting and scene realism constant across a sequence, even as pose, lighting and occlusion shift. BRAHMA AI's Neural Performance technology was singled out for meeting that bar at feature-film, television and live-production scale.
Neural Performance technology delivered de-aging for Robert Zemeckis's Here in near real time
The system visualized younger versions of Tom Hanks and Robin Wright on set during production of Here, producing roughly one hour of finished 4K transformation for the completed film. BRAHMA AI's technology has since expanded into television, live performance and multilingual content, most recently supplying performance-preserving English-language lip-sync for the international release of Ramayana.
US Patent No. 12,322,018 protects the core latent-space editing methods
The patented research, titled "Latent Space Editing and Neural Animation to Generate Hyperreal Synthetic Faces," now forms the technical foundation for ATMAN, BRAHMA AI's digital-human product line, and for the broader BRAHMA AI platform used to create, localize and govern enterprise audiovisual content.
CTO Jo Plaete frames the win as validation for high-stakes production use
"This Emmy recognises technology that has been proven where the bar is highest: feature films, television and live production, in front of performers, directors and global audiences," said Jo Plaete, Chief Technology Officer of BRAHMA AI.
The 2026 Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, will be held on October 14, 2026, at the Television Academy's Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, California, in a joint ceremony with the Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Awards.
