Caracal Co-Sponsors Inaugural NYC Military Collegiate Boxing Classic

New York – October 07, 2026 -- Caracal Products & Services will co-sponsor the inaugural NYC Collegiate Military Boxing Classic, 'Fight to Educate,' on Nov. 14, 2026, with proceeds directed to athletic programs at six U.S. military academies and colleges.

Six military schools will send boxing teams to compete in 12 matched bouts

The event, set for The Léman Ballroom at 41 Broad Street in New York from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., will feature teams from The Citadel, the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Coast Guard Academy, the United States Military Academy (West Point), the United States Naval Academy, and Virginia Military Institute. Boxing legends Ray Mercer and Micky Ward will make guest appearances, alongside a VIP reception for alumni, supporters, and sponsors.

Caracal leadership frames the sponsorship as talent development, not just charity

Charles "Chuck" Ellis, President and Chairman of the Board of Caracal Academy and a VMI alumnus, is serving as board sponsor for the event. Caracal President and CEO Don Roberts, also a former VMI boxing club participant, said the discipline built through collegiate boxing produces the kind of employee who "shows up, pulls their weight, and doesn't quit when things get hard."

Funds raised will support athletic programs across the six participating institutions

The sponsorship ties Caracal, a healthcare-focused sourcing and distribution company founded in Detroit in 2004, to a fundraising model built around collegiate athletics rather than direct medical or supply-chain services. The company has built partnerships across healthcare, insurance, and financial services sectors.
