CDTL to Unveil Distributed E-Axle, Electromagnetic Brakes at IAA 2026

Hanover – September 12, 2026 -- CDTL will present its EA5000NP distributed electric axle and an electromagnetic braking system for commercial vehicles at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, running from September 15 to 20, with a press day on September 14.

CDTL frames actuation as the missing link for autonomous trucks and buses

Under the theme "Electric Drive + Electromechanical Braking — Defining Actuation Systems for Autonomous Commercial Vehicles," Hangzhou Contemporary e-Drive Technology Co., Ltd. (CDTL) will argue that as commercial vehicles become more electrified, software-controlled and automated, the industry's core challenge has shifted from perception and decision-making to reliably converting digital commands into physical vehicle motion.

Company showcases distributed propulsion and wheel-end braking for heavy trucks

CDTL's distributed electric propulsion system independently converts controlled torque at each wheel end, while its electromagnetic braking system directly converts braking commands into braking force at the wheel end through electromechanical actuation. At the show, the company will display the EA5000NP heavy-duty electric axle alongside its electromagnetic braking system and electric propulsion products for trucks, urban buses and mass-transit applications.

Distributed drive technology is already running on multiple vehicle platforms

CDTL states its distributed electric propulsion technology has been deployed across several commercial vehicle platforms and operating scenarios, giving the company field-validated data as it moves toward more integrated propulsion-and-braking systems. The company's products have been deployed in commercial vehicle applications in China and in international markets including France, Spain, the United States, Canada, Brazil and Australia.

CDTL will host visitors at Hall 21, Stand D37 throughout the show

Visitors can view the technologies at CDTL's booth in Hall 21, Stand D37, for the duration of IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany.
