CDTL Unveils 900kW E-Drive Axle, EMB Brakes at IAA Transportation 2026

Hannover – September 19, 2026 -- CDTL is presenting a lineup of distributed electric drive axles and electromechanical braking (EMB) systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles at IAA Transportation 2026, with its flagship platform already deployed across more than 3,000 vehicles.

EA5000NP axle delivers 900 kW peak power on an 800V platform

The EA5000NP distributed electric drive axle uses two oil-cooled motors and a two-speed transmission to enable independent left- and right-wheel torque control without a mechanical differential. Running on an 800V architecture, it produces up to 660 kW rated power and 900 kW peak power, with the underlying platform proven across more than 3,000 vehicles in commercial operation.

EA4800N axle hits nearly 100,000 N•m in dual-axle heavy-duty configuration

For heavier-duty applications, the four-speed EA4800N multi-speed electric drive axle generates approximately 48,000 N•m of maximum wheel-end torque per axle. In a 6x4 dual-drive-axle setup, combined torque approaches 100,000 N•m, targeting high-tonnage truck operations.

EA1100K low-floor drive system is operational in China, Malaysia and Türkiye

CDTL's EA1100K independent-suspension distributed drive system integrates drive, steering and suspension functions into a single unit, enabling all-wheel steering, bidirectional operation and a fully low-floor bus architecture. The system is already in service in China, Malaysia and Türkiye for next-generation transit fleets. Separately, the EA2100N low-floor electric portal axle has accumulated service experience in France, Austria and Belgium.

EMB braking system cuts energy use by up to 85.4% in vehicle testing

CDTL's electromechanical braking system has moved into small-series vehicle application. In deployed vehicles, the technology reduces overall vehicle weight by more than 100 kg, shortens braking distance by approximately 10%, and cuts braking-system energy consumption by as much as 85.4% compared with conventional systems.

Vehicle manufacturers and value-chain players engage CDTL at Hall 21 stand

On the exhibition's press day, CDTL's booth at Hall 21, Stand D37 drew technical inquiries from vehicle manufacturers and other companies across the global commercial vehicle value chain. The company positions the interest as evidence of accelerating industry demand for high-efficiency e-drive systems, brake-by-wire technology and core actuation components as commercial vehicles shift toward electrification and autonomous operation.
