Bethesda, Md. – September 13, 2026 -- Centrus Energy Corp. [NYSE: LEU] has signed a definitive multi-year contract to supply high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU) to Radiant, adding a new domestic fuel customer as deliveries are set to begin before the end of the decade.
Contract includes prepayments to fund Centrus enrichment build-out
The agreement adds Radiant to Centrus' HALEU customer backlog and includes prepayments to Centrus that will support the company's domestic commercial enrichment capacity program. The fuel will supply multiple Kaleidos microreactors as Radiant scales from its first test unit toward commercial and national security deployments.
U.S.-origin enrichment enables unobligated fuel for defense use
Because Centrus' AC100 centrifuge technology is U.S.-origin and relies on a domestic manufacturing supply chain, the enrichment supplied to Radiant will be classified as "unobligated," permitting use in national security applications. Centrus states its AC100 design is the only deployment-ready U.S.-origin technology currently available for unobligated enrichment.
Radiant targets remote power, data centers and defense markets
Radiant develops transportable microreactors intended for remote locations, data centers, defense applications, and other commercial and industrial uses, giving Centrus a broad potential market for its domestic HALEU supply. Dr. Rita Baranwal, Chief Nuclear Officer of Radiant, said the company has built its fuel supply chain in parallel with reactor development to avoid dependence on a single sourcing path.
Centrus expands role in emerging microreactor fuel market
Amir Vexler, President and CEO of Centrus, said the Radiant contract builds the domestic fuel supply chain needed for next-generation nuclear energy and strengthens the U.S.-based fuel supply network for emerging reactor developers.
