Fairfax – October 13, 2026 -- CGI Federal has released Momentum 8.4, making its financial, acquisition and budget management suite the first core financial system on the Treasury FM QSMO Marketplace to offer commercial-off-the-shelf integration with GO.gov, the federal travel management system. The release is available now to all federal agencies.
Momentum 8.4 adds conversational AI analytics through its analytics agent
Agencies can query and interpret data through AI-backed conversational analytics delivered via Momentum's analytics agent. CGI Federal says the release also streamlines business processes and helps agencies make better use of unused funds.
The fund-management upgrades include improved handling of unliquidated obligation (ULO) and unliquidated commitment (ULC) balances. Automated recommendations for credit card reconciliation are also included.
GO.gov integration covers travel authorizations, vouchers and advances
The GO.gov integration enables integrated processing of travel authorizations, vouchers and advances within the core financial system. Momentum 8.4 also adds new payment justification capabilities and integration with the IRS Information Returns Intake System (IRIS). CGI Federal says these updates help agencies keep pace with the latest federal mandates.
Six new workspaces target budget execution, ordering and reconciliation
The release introduces six action-oriented workspaces built for federal workflows:
- Budget execution
- Automated match
- Intra-governmental transaction management
- Streamlined ordering
- Credit card statement reconciliation
- GO.gov travel management
Each workspace provides guided processes, data insights and centralized tools. The GO.gov workspace supports financial optimization by giving users greater visibility and recommended actions to recover unused travel advances.
Kerry Canfield, Vice-President at CGI Federal, said agencies are seeking to modernize core operations while meeting evolving requirements and rising efficiency demands, and that Momentum 8.4 is designed to reduce operational complexity across federal supporting functions.
