Chicago Faucets Joins BACnet International, Launches CF Connect PLUS

Des Plaines, Ill. – September 16, 2026 -- Chicago Faucets has joined BACnet International and launched CF Connect PLUS, a system that links electronic faucets directly to building automation systems (BAS) via native BACnet/IP integration.

CF Connect PLUS captures water temperature at the point of use, not just at centralized equipment

Unlike traditional BAS inputs that monitor centralized plumbing equipment, CF Connect PLUS uses retrofit temperature sensors installed at faucet angle stops to measure water temperature directly where it reaches occupants. That data is relayed to a CF Connect PLUS Gateway, which communicates with the BAS using the BACnet/IP protocol.

A single Gateway supports up to 30 wired faucets or 10 via Bluetooth

Multiple Gateways can be networked to a building's automation system over standard LAN architecture, allowing facility teams to scale monitoring across large campuses. The Gateway exposes connected faucets and sensors as BACnet objects, letting operators fold water data into existing building analytics platforms alongside HVAC, lighting, and security systems.

The platform automates hygiene flushing and logs an audit trail of system activity

CF Connect PLUS records hygiene flushing events automatically, generating documentation facility teams can use to demonstrate compliance and track system status and alerts. Richard Nortier, Vice President of Products and Marketing at Chicago Faucets, said the BACnet International membership supports efforts to connect plumbing infrastructure with building automation through BACnet-enabled technologies.

Andy McMillan, President and Managing Director of BACnet International, said the product extends BACnet's reach into building infrastructure, enabling operators to merge water data with broader building information systems for health, safety, and operational efficiency. Greg Hunt, Commercial Product Manager at Chicago Faucets, noted that the addition of point-of-use temperature visibility helps facility teams assess plumbing performance across a building.

Target facilities include hospitals, airports, and stadiums with distributed plumbing systems

Chicago Faucets, a member of the Geberit Group based in Des Plaines, Illinois, designed the technology for large facilities including hospitals, universities, airports, stadiums, schools, and offices where plumbing systems are spread across extensive areas.
