Denver and Tacoma, Wash. – September 15, 2026 -- Colorado Imaging Associates (CIA) and TRA Medical Imaging (TRA) have formed Affiliated Radiology, a physician-led organization combining nearly 200 radiologists across the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions under a shared technology and operational platform.
New entity aggregates PACS, AI infrastructure and radiologist capacity across two regional practices
Affiliated Radiology will centralize PACS, AI-supported workflow tools, and clinical diagnostic AI across partnering organizations. The structure is designed to pool technology investment and purchasing power, lowering per-partner costs for AI-supported pre-drafting and other infrastructure while allowing practices to retain local ownership and physician governance.
Shared radiologist network to expand read capacity and subspecialty coverage
Participating practices will gain access to a growing network of radiologists for shared read capacity, subspecialty expertise, and coverage support. CIA and TRA currently serve hospitals and imaging centers across their respective regions, and the partnership intends to expand nationally by recruiting additional imaging providers.
Executives frame the deal as scale without loss of physician control
Douglas Seiler, M.D., physician President of TRA Medical Imaging, said Affiliated Radiology gives groups scale to access sophisticated PACS, reporting and AI infrastructure while connecting them to a broader network of radiologist expertise. Josh Bryant, M.D., President of Colorado Imaging Associates, said the partnership combines the strengths of multiple radiology practices with the technology and clinical scale of a larger organization, enabling shared infrastructure and expanded AI access without sacrificing local ownership or physician leadership.
Shared services model targets administrative cost reduction
Affiliated Radiology will also pursue shared administrative and operational services aimed at reducing cost and complexity for partner practices, allowing them to focus resources on clinical care delivery.
