Clean Energy Ventures Names Aruna Ramsamy Managing Partner

BOSTON – October 29, 2026 -- Clean Energy Ventures (CEV), a venture capital firm investing in climate technologies in North America and Europe, has appointed Aruna Ramsamy as Managing Partner to lead its European operations from London.

CEV targets early-growth and growth-stage deals with the new hire

The appointment is meant to expand CEV's capabilities in early-growth and growth-stage investing, deepen its European presence and add experience for its active portfolio companies. Ramsamy will identify, assess and structure new investments, guide portfolio companies through growth inflection points and contribute to the growth of CEV's asset management platform.

Ramsamy brings experience from funds ranging from $300M to $1.5B

Ramsamy most recently served as Venture Partner for Growth Equity at Extantia. She was also Managing Director of Just Climate, an investment business established by Generation Investment Management with a $1.5B fund to scale solutions for the industrial sector.

She previously held senior leadership roles at Climate Investment (formerly OGCI), a $1B+ fund investing in advanced energy and climate technologies across Europe and North America. From 2010 to 2017, she led investments at Soros Economic Development Fund, a $300M fund supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in frontier markets.

Board seats span Svante, Stegra and Ascend Elements

Ramsamy has served on the boards of Svante, Stegra, Metron, Econic Technologies, Ontruck and Ascend Elements, among others. CEV Managing Partner Daniel Goldman said her work on financing large-scale, first-of-a-kind industrial projects shows she understands how companies move from technological innovation to commercial enterprise.

CEV expects her to help advance its investment strategy and new fund development. Ramsamy said CEV should now accelerate commercialization of its portfolio and develop investment platforms that supply the capital these companies need to scale. She added that "Europe's decarbonization priorities are increasingly aligned with industrial competitiveness, energy security, and economic growth."
