Chicago – September 13, 2026 -- Copia Automation has extended its OT code management and recovery platform to support Omron Sysmac Studio, enabling automated backup, version control, and rapid recovery for manufacturers running Omron NJ and NX-series controllers.

The integration allows Copia customers to bring the same code management discipline already applied to Rockwell and Siemens environments to Omron-based operations. Copia DeviceLink automatically backs up Sysmac Studio projects so OT teams retain a verified last known version for restoration.
Unverified backups on laptops and USB drives leave plants exposed to downtime
Industrial backups often live on an individual engineer's laptop or a USB drive, or are missing entirely, according to Copia. When a cyber incident, bad code push, or hardware failure occurs, recovery can depend on which staff member is present and what they remember, directly extending downtime.
System detects unauthorized changes and enables rollback in minutes
Copia's platform detects unauthorized or accidental changes at the device level and provides engineers a full change history with visual diffs to validate edits. Sysmac Studio projects are consolidated alongside code from other controllers in a single system of record, and the platform operates within segmented, security-sensitive OT networks without opening new inbound ports.
Omron and Copia executives frame integration around recovery speed

Copia customers can now schedule automated backups of Sysmac Studio projects across devices, receive real-time alerts on code changes, and compare versions visually through Copia's Git-based Source Control. The platform also allows teams to manage Omron devices alongside other PLC brands in a unified view and recover the last verified Sysmac Studio project to meet recovery time objectives.
