Corgi Insurance Hires Josh LaRiccia to Lead National Distribution

SAN FRANCISCO – October 27, 2026 -- Corgi Insurance, an AI-native, full-stack commercial insurance carrier, has appointed Josh LaRiccia as Head of Distribution, a hire who previously onboarded 15,000 users and 13,000 agencies onto a platform at his own firm.

LaRiccia built distribution at First Insurance & Risk Management over four years

LaRiccia co-founded First Insurance & Risk Management and spent four years building its distribution operations from scratch. He developed relationships with agents, wholesalers and industry partners that formed the firm's distribution network and market presence.

Corgi tasks him with onboarding MGA, wholesale and national retail partners across the US

LaRiccia will oversee partner development, distribution strategy and market expansion across the United States. He will target managing general agents (MGAs), wholesalers and national retail brokers whose business matches Corgi's underwriting appetite and growth objectives.

He will also work with Corgi's underwriting and product teams to identify underserved markets and develop new insurance programs. Partner feedback is to feed into product development. LaRiccia will represent Corgi at industry conferences and events across the MGA, wholesale and retail insurance communities.

CEO Nico Laqua links the hire to nationwide commercial expansion

Corgi Co-Founder and CEO Nico Laqua said LaRiccia's experience building a distribution business and his understanding of what agents and brokers need from carriers will be "instrumental" in reaching more businesses nationwide.

The appointment follows Corgi's expansion of its insurance infrastructure, underwriting capabilities and commercial insurance programs. The company says it combines AI-driven technology with experienced insurance leadership to streamline the process for brokers, partners and businesses.
