CREATE Medicines Takes In Vivo CAR-T Autoimmune Case to APLAR Seoul

Cambridge, Mass. – October 28, 2026 -- CREATE Medicines will present preclinical data showing complete B cell depletion in lymph nodes, spleen and bone marrow after low doses of its in vivo CAR-T therapy at the APLAR 2026 Congress in Seoul, running October 28 to November 1 at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center.

Adam Raff presents mouse and primate data on October 31

Adam Raff, MD, PhD, SVP of Autoimmune Clinical Development, will deliver the oral abstract "In Vivo Generation of CAR-T Cells for the Treatment of B-cell Mediated Autoimmune Disease" in Abstract Session 2. The data come from mice and non-human primates. They show that low doses cleared B cells from the deep tissues where autoimmune disease takes hold.

CRT-402 enters first-in-human testing in Australia

CRT-402, the company's lead autoimmune candidate, is a CD19-targeted in vivo CAR-T delivered through a proprietary mRNA-LNP platform. It programs a patient's own T cells inside the body. The company says this removes the need for ex vivo cell manufacturing and lymphodepleting chemotherapy.

A first-in-human Phase 1/2 study (NCT07778446) is under way in Australia in patients with lupus, systemic sclerosis and myositis. CREATE cites the potential for repeat dosing and off-the-shelf administration.

CEO Daniel Getts, PhD, described CRT-402 as an off-the-shelf therapy built on the platform with the largest clinical dataset in the in vivo CAR field. He called in vivo CAR-T "the next chapter" for autoimmune patients.

Pre-congress workshop gathers ex vivo CAR-T pioneers on October 29

CREATE will host the industry workshop "In Vivo CAR-T: The Next Standard of Care for Autoimmune Disease?" on Thursday, October 29, from 15:00 to 17:00 KST in Room 202, Level 2. Getts will chair and moderate.

Prof. Georg Schett of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg will speak on CAR-T at the bedside in autoimmunity. His CASTLE study showed that a CAR-T immune reset can deliver durable, drug-free remission in lupus, myositis and systemic sclerosis. Prof. Cameron Turtle of The University of Sydney, whose early trials helped establish CD19 CAR-T in cancer, will trace the shift from bespoke therapy to reproducible medicine. Both serve on CREATE's Clinical and Scientific Advisory Board.

Prof. Shirley Chan of The University of Hong Kong will cover biomarkers of cytokine release syndrome in autoimmune CAR-T. Raff will discuss in vivo CAR-T and the immune reset. A moderated panel with live audience Q&A will close the session, joined by Prof. Ho So of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Raff's oral presentation is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 14:25 to 14:35 KST, including Q&A, in Room 203, Level 2. The session is chaired by Prof. Hae-Rim Kim and Prof. Ho-Youn Kim of the Republic of Korea.
