Crest Coating Wins AS9100D Certification for Aerospace Work

Anaheim – October 15, 2026 -- Crest Coating, Inc. has earned AS9100D certification from Amtivo after an eight-month effort to build a quality system to aerospace standards. The Southern California coating specialist can now pursue aerospace and defense work that commonly requires the credential.

Certification covers five coating processes

The certification applies to powder, Teflon, Xylan®, Halar® and BCS bakeware coatings. CEO Jeff Erickson said the certified work is backed by documented traceability, disciplined inspection and processes designed to catch problems before parts reach customers.

AS9100 adds aerospace-specific requirements to ISO 9001

The International Aerospace Quality Group developed AS9100 for suppliers to the aviation, space and defense industries. It builds on ISO 9001 with added requirements for product safety, traceability, risk management, counterfeit-part prevention and on-time delivery. Aerospace manufacturers and their suppliers commonly require it before approving a source for flight hardware and defense programs.

Anaheim plant of more than 50,000 square feet serves six sectors

Crest serves aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, electronics and industrial customers from the Anaheim site. Its capabilities also include dry-film lubricant, high-temperature and conformal coatings. Erickson said the company is ready to support more aerospace and defense programs.

Crest also holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, is a Chemours Licensed Industrial Applicator and an approved applicator for Whitford Xylan®, and is a Tiger Drylac 5-Star CARC applicator.
