The company points to common scenarios -- post-surgical recovery, resolved acute conditions, prescription changes, dose adjustments, therapy substitutions, transitions to different levels of care, and completed antibiotic courses -- as recurring triggers that leave leftover medication behind.

According to the series, when therapeutic need ends but the medication remains in the home, the prescription cycle is left unfinished, creating a preventable safety risk.
