Dragonfly Energy Wins EPO Allowance for Dry Electrode Battery Patent

RENO – October 27, 2026 -- Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp. (Nasdaq: DFLI) has received a notice of allowance from the European Patent Office for its application "Systems and Methods for Dry Powder Coating Layers of an Electrochemical Cell," extending protection for its dry electrode manufacturing platform into Europe.

European Patent Office allows claims covering dry powder coating of cell layers

The allowed application covers key elements of the company's proprietary dry electrode manufacturing platform. The technology uses dry powder coating to form critical layers within an electrochemical cell. The process can support electrode, separator and solid-state electrolyte layers.

Dragonfly Energy, maker of Battle Born Batteries, says the allowance reinforces its intellectual property position in scalable, solvent-free battery manufacturing and all-solid-state battery development.

CEO links European protection to all-solid-state commercialization

CEO Dr. Denis Phares said the allowance "expands the global reach of our intellectual property portfolio" and strengthens protection around the dry electrode technology at the center of the company's long-term cell manufacturing strategy. He added that the company believes securing patent rights in key markets will improve its position for future commercialization worldwide as it advances all-solid-state battery development.

The release gave no timeline for final grant and no financial terms. Dragonfly Energy says the dry electrode platform is designed to support multiple battery chemistries and advance the future deployment of nonflammable, all-solid-state battery cells.
