Redwood City, Calif. – September 15, 2026 -- Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX) has appointed DD Dasgupta as Chief Marketing Officer, elevating a 25-year infrastructure veteran to steer marketing strategy as enterprises shift from AI pilots to full-scale deployment.
Dasgupta moves up from product marketing role he held since 2024
Dasgupta joined Equinix in 2024 as Vice President, Product and Solution Marketing, where he built out the company's customer-focused solutions portfolio. In his new role, he will report to Equinix Chief Customer and Revenue Officer Shane Paladin.
Appointment targets enterprises navigating AI inference infrastructure shifts
Paladin said Dasgupta's background in infrastructure and networking positions him to address customer needs as they modernize systems and expand into AI. Equinix serves more than 10,000 customers globally as what the company calls a neutral exchange for running, connecting and orchestrating digital business operations.
Career spans Cisco, Avi Networks, Juniper, HP and Nortel
Before Equinix, Dasgupta led product management and product marketing for Cisco's data center portfolio, covering networking, servers, storage and SaaS automation. He previously served as founding CMO at Avi Networks, guiding the company from stealth mode through its acquisition by VMware. His career also includes leadership roles at Juniper Networks, HP and Nortel Networks spanning marketing, product management and software engineering. He holds an undergraduate degree in computer science and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Dasgupta cites enterprise shift toward multi-cloud, multi-provider AI deployment
Dasgupta said enterprises are interconnecting with more clouds, AI providers, partners and locations than ever before as they move from AI pilots to full deployment. He framed Equinix's trusted, neutral exchange model as central to helping customers scale that infrastructure.
