Berlin – October 29, 2026 -- The EUstay project will produce ten multimedia content packages over the next 12 months, each covering one EU-funded Interreg cohesion project, and make them available free of charge to local media and stakeholders.
Each package contains four assets in six languages
Every package includes an editorial video for broadcast and online use, a short vertical clip for social media, a photo set for print, online and social channels, and a news feature. The feature draws on people who shape the projects or experience their effects. Content is produced in German, English, Danish, Dutch, French and Polish.
The packages target local media on both sides of EU internal borders and in member states, local Interreg secretariats, Interreg project leads, and communication teams of EU-funded projects and regional institutions.
Ten projects span five thematic pillars from housing to innovation
The projects are grouped into five pillars: housing; quality of life and social inclusion; mobility and connectivity; energy transition; and competitiveness and innovation. They focus on how targeted investment in smaller cities and rural areas creates local opportunities, with offerings for children, young people, adults and older people.
Most are cross-border projects along Germany's borders with Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland and France. Others are based in Central Europe.
- Germany-Denmark: DDOG, Business DE-DK and HeAT (Health Advancing Technologies for Elderly)
- Germany-Netherlands: ERMWIC and MONT Mobility
- Germany-Poland: Sprachbrücke
- Germany-France: Upper Rhine Sustainable Food and AsimutE
- Germany-Central Europe: RenoWave and HERCULES-CE, which establishes renewable energy communities
EUstay targets cohesion policy visibility in border regions
The initiative sets three goals. It aims to raise awareness of cohesion policy impact, particularly in border regions. It seeks to improve the image of the EU as an effective local actor by showing what EU funds change in real communities. It also intends to increase cohesion policy coverage in local media on both sides of borders, so residents hear the same story in their own language.
The European Commission co-finances EUstay, which continues the EU-co-financed projects EU4regions and EUconomy.
