Exiger Completes AI-Native Platform Rebuild, Backed by Carlyle, Insight, JMI

Washington – September 15, 2026 -- Exiger has compressed what was estimated as a three-year, $180 million platform overhaul into a four-month, $20 million sprint, launching an AI-native version of its 1Exiger supply chain and trade compliance platform with backing from Carlyle, Insight Partners, and JMI Equity.

Exiger's new AI development engine writes 95% of first-generation code

The company's AI product development lifecycle (AI-PDLC) automates each stage of software development, integrating with Exiger's secure CI/CD pipeline atop a proprietary dataset the firm describes as the largest in supply chain, defense, and corporate intelligence, spanning three trillion data points. CEO Brandon Daniels said the platform allows a team of a few hundred 'Experience Builders' and engineers to match output typically requiring 10,000 staff engineers at larger firms.

The upgraded system, built on top of the existing 1Exiger stack, is designed to let customers manage suppliers, parts, regulators, and customers through agentic workflows that adapt with each decision. Daniels compared the platform's iterative update model to smartphone software, with new functionality deployed on a daily or hourly basis rather than through periodic major releases.

Investors point to 50% core market growth and rising defense-sector AI demand

Ryan Hinkle, Managing Director at Insight Partners, cited 50% core market growth this year as reinforcing investor confidence in Exiger's roadmap. Carlyle's Steve Bailey and Dayne Baird said government and defense customers are increasingly demanding sophisticated AI tools for supply chain mapping, a trend they said positions Exiger favorably given the release timing. Bob Nye of JMI Equity said the transformation offers a template for AI-native reinvention across JMI's broader portfolio.

Platform build follows $1.2 billion investment and three acquisitions since 2023

The AI-led replatforming, which began at the start of this year, follows a $1.2 billion investment led by the three firms in 2023 and three subsequent acquisitions that expanded Exiger's proprietary data holdings beyond data typically available to large language models. Exiger serves more than 550 global customers, including 150 Fortune 500 companies and over 80 government and defense industrial organizations, and holds FedRAMP authorization.
