HONG KONG – November 05, 2026 -- Fosun has used its ninth consecutive China International Import Expo (CIIE) appearance to debut Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci 5 robotic system in China. Intuitive Fosun turns CIIE debuts into commercial products
Fosun Pharma and Intuitive Surgical formed the Shanghai-based joint venture Intuitive Fosun in 2017. The da Vinci Xi debuted at the inaugural 2018 CIIE and reached commercial launch in China in 2019. The Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy system, first shown in 2019, received Chinese marketing approval in 2024, extending robotic technology to lung disease diagnosis and treatment.
The da Vinci SP system was added to the catalog under the Hong Kong and Macau Medicine and Equipment Connect scheme this year. It was also admitted to the National Medical Products Administration's Special Review Procedure for Innovative Medical Devices. Sweden-based Breas Medical is debuting its Breas Apto respiratory mask for the Chinese market.
Intuitive Fosun's team of nearly 200 clinical solutions professionals supports hospitals using the two platforms, da Vinci and Ion.
