FutureCeuticals, Aura Scientific Settle IP Suit Over Cognitive Ingredient

Momence, Ill. – September 08, 2026 -- FutureCeuticals, Inc. and Aura Scientific have resolved a patent and trademark lawsuit centered on Aura's NeuroRush ingredient, with Aura agreeing to discontinue NeuroRush and transition to FutureCeuticals' CognatiQ whole coffee fruit extract.

Legal dispute ends with Aura exiting NeuroRush ingredient line

The lawsuit involved FutureCeuticals' cognitive health intellectual property tied to its whole coffee fruit extract, sold under the tradenames CognatiQ and NeuroFactor. J. Randal Wexler, FutureCeuticals' Vice President & General Counsel, said Aura's acknowledgment of the IP's validity reinforces its market strength. Wexler noted the company's IP enforcement protects continued investment in clinical research while safeguarding customer and partner interests.

Aura shifts customers to CognatiQ as like-for-like substitute

Aura Scientific is already transitioning current and prospective customers from NeuroRush to CognatiQ. Kyle Seymour, Aura's Director of Product Development, described the switch as a compositional substitution that adds FutureCeuticals' clinical support and scientific backing to Aura's existing customer base.

Companies pivot from litigation to joint commercial exploration

Both firms characterized the settlement as a foundation for further collaboration rather than a purely adversarial outcome. Wexler said FutureCeuticals aims to explore opportunities with Aura around clinically supported, differentiated ingredients, citing Aura's ideation and logistics capabilities in the wellness market. Seymour said Aura intends to focus future projects on pairing its customer-facing product development experience with FutureCeuticals' ingredient portfolio and clinical data, which he said benefits both customers and the broader wellness market.
