GAC Overseas Exports Surge 177% in August, Led by Africa Boom

Guangzhou – September 12, 2026 -- GAC Group's overseas exports jumped 177% year-on-year in August to 26,978 units, pushing cumulative exports for the January-August period to 172,008 units, up 136% from the prior year. The Chinese automaker's total overseas exports have now reached nearly 600,000 units.

Africa becomes GAC's fastest-growing overseas market with 881% sales surge

Retail sales in Africa rose 881% year-on-year in August, making it GAC's fastest-expanding market this month. GAC International signed an agreement with Jameel Motors for local vehicle production in Egypt and officially entered the Ghanaian market, launching flagship models including the S7, GS8 and AION V.

Americas retail sales climb 93% as GAC breaks into Uruguay's top five brands

Retail sales across North and South America grew 93% year-on-year in August. In July, GAC ranked fifth among all passenger car brands and third among pure electric vehicle brands in Uruguay, capturing a 6.0% monthly market share. The AION V placed second in overall SUV sales and first in compact SUV sales in Uruguay during the same month.

Southeast Asia posts 24% growth with Philippines sales up 283%

Retail sales in Southeast Asia rose 24% year-on-year in August, driven by a 283% jump in the Philippines, 89% in Singapore, 27% in Thailand and 24% in Indonesia. In Hong Kong, the GAC E9 ranked first among luxury MPVs in July, while GAC placed second among Chinese brands and third overall in cumulative sales from January to July.

Middle East debut features XT80 off-roader as user base tops 100,000

GAC has built a customer base exceeding 100,000 users in the Middle East. On August 28, the company unveiled the GS7 PHEV alongside the XT80, its first off-road model, marking the vehicle's first overseas appearance. The GS7 PHEV is scheduled to launch in the Middle East in September.

European sales rise 93% month-on-month with Portugal up 167%

Retail sales in Europe increased 93% month-on-month in August. The UK posted an 89% gain, Portugal rose 167% and Poland climbed 33%. Greece ranked second in pure electric vehicle sales during the month, continuing to expand its market share.
