Galloway Acquires Indiana's Hafer, Expanding to 21 Offices

Denver – September 13, 2026 -- Galloway & Company, LLC has acquired Hafer Inc., a 70-person architecture, interior design, and MEP engineering firm based in Evansville, Indiana, growing Galloway's footprint to 21 offices across 13 states.

Galloway adds four Midwest offices through the Hafer deal

Hafer, founded in 1978, operates from Evansville, Indiana; Columbus, Ohio; Owensboro, Kentucky; and Carbondale, Illinois. The firm delivers architecture, interior design, MEP engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and sustainable design services across healthcare, civic, corporate, higher education, K-12, religious, retail, restaurant, library, and aquatics projects.

Both firms cite aligned culture as deal rationale

Galloway CEO Dave Guetig said the acquisition brings together "two organizations with aligned cultures and complementary capabilities." Hafer President Jeff Justice said the firm was "intentional about finding a partner that shares our values, culture, and vision for the future," adding that Galloway provides access to greater resources and career growth opportunities for employees while preserving Hafer's community-focused operating model.

Hafer will retain its offices and client relationships

Hafer will continue operating from its existing locations, maintaining its current client base and community relationships post-acquisition.

Deal fits Galloway's growth strategy backed by private equity partners

The acquisition supports Galloway's long-term strategy in partnership with ARA Services Partners and Kelso & Company. Galloway, founded in Denver in 1982, now employs 530 professionals across 14 in-house disciplines and is licensed in all 50 states. The firm ranks 288 on the Engineering News-Record Top 500, having climbed 102 positions over the past five years.
