Frankfurt – September 12, 2026 -- Hertha BSC has completed the migration of its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central system from an on-premise setup to the cloud, marking the first concrete step in a broader digital transformation partnership with management and technology consultancy BearingPoint.
BearingPoint becomes official Innovation Partner of the 130-year-old Berlin club
The Berlin football institution, founded in 1892 and counting more than 60,000 members, named BearingPoint its official Innovation Partner to drive enterprise IT modernization. The consultancy managed the full transformation cycle, including analysis, migration planning, testing, go-live support and post-launch system stabilization.
Cloud platform to enable AI, automation and scalable IT architecture
The new cloud-based ERP environment replaces Hertha BSC's legacy on-premise system, introducing a modern licensing model that allows resource use to scale with demand. The platform is designed to support automation, data-driven decision-making, and integration of future commerce and service applications. It also unlocks access to Copilot-based AI functions embedded in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, positioning the club to automate administrative processes and expand data analytics capabilities.
Partnership extends beyond IT into youth sports sponsorship
Alongside the technology engagement, BearingPoint has supported Hertha BSC's U23 squad through its BearingPoint Sports Talent program since the start of the collaboration last season. Martin Costa Santos, Partner at BearingPoint, said the migration combined cloud transformation with process optimization to build a platform supporting the club's long-term growth and innovation needs.
Both parties commit to multi-year expansion of the partnership
Dr. Nicolas Frevel, Director of Digital, IT, Procurement & eSport at Hertha BSC, said BearingPoint's technical expertise and understanding of the club's specific requirements delivered a tailored, future-ready solution. The two organizations plan to expand the collaboration in coming years, focusing on platform development, long-term application support, and further automation and AI-driven innovation projects.
