Stuttgart – September 08, 2026 -- HiKOKI, a member of the KOKI Group, unveiled a new generation of cordless framing nailers for the European market that fire up to 5.0 nails per second while eliminating hoses, compressors and gas cartridges entirely.
New nailers match pneumatic output without external air supply
The lineup's core NR1890DCB framing nailer delivers up to 4.5 nails per second, rising to 5.0 nails per second when paired with a cordless MultiVolt battery. Trigger response time is 43 milliseconds -- the fastest among non-pneumatic nailers and roughly half the response time of the closest cordless competitor, according to HiKOKI. Most cordless and gas-powered nailers currently manage only two to three nails per second.
Weight drops below 4 kilograms, cutting fatigue on overhead jobs
At 3.9 kg including battery, the 30-34 degree framing nailer is positioned as the lightest 18V cordless nailer in its class, more than 1 kg lighter than the 5-5.3 kg tools most crews currently use. Magnesium housing, chamber, nose and magazine components replace the plastic and aluminum builds of the prior generation. A single 18V 5.0Ah battery charge powers roughly 700 nail shots across the 50-90mm nail range.
Three models target framing, metal connectors and duplex fastening
The European launch lineup includes the NR1890DCB (30-34 degree framing, 50-90mm nails), the NR1890DRB (20-22 degree framing, 4.0 kg, 50-90mm nails) and the NR1865DKA metal-connector nailer (33-36 degree, 38-64mm nails, up to three nails per second). All three run brushless 18V motors, share the 43ms trigger response and are compatible with MultiVolt batteries. Interchangeable magazine assemblies let compatible strip nailers switch between framing, metal-connector and duplex fastening configurations on the same battery platform.
Air Spring Drive System Plus removes need for compressors or gas refills
The tools run on HiKOKI's Air Spring Drive System Plus, which stores and releases compressed air inside the tool itself to generate pneumatic-level driving force without external hoses or compressors. Bernd Fleischmann, CTO of KOKI Group, said the system pairs the company's existing air-spring architecture with a redesigned lifting mechanism that doubles firing frequency compared to the previous generation, closing the performance gap with pneumatic tools.
Elimination of gas cartridges targets recurring operating costs
Without a combustion chamber, the nailers avoid gas cartridge purchases, soot buildup, combustion-related cleaning cycles and fumes -- a design HiKOKI positions as cleaner for enclosed job sites. Peter Vullinghs, president of KOKI Group Europe, said the new generation lets crews avoid trading power for mobility and called the launch a step change rather than an incremental update.
Distribution through independent tool dealers starts November 2026
HiKOKI will roll out the nailer platform, alongside a new fastener range, through independent tool distributors starting November 2026. Availability, configurations, pricing and distribution channels will vary by country.
