Husqvarna First to Win FCC Approval for Foreign-Made Robotic Mowers

Stockholm – September 16, 2026 -- Husqvarna Group has become the first robotics company to secure Conditional Approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for foreign-manufactured advanced robotic devices, clearing a key regulatory hurdle for its U.S. expansion.

FCC exempts four Husqvarna mower platforms from national security covered list

The FCC's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau announced the approval on September 9, 2026, covering four Automower platforms: the 305V iQ, 310V iQ, 420V iQ and 440V iQ. The decision follows the FCC's August 2026 publication of a covered list identifying communications equipment deemed a national security risk; the Conditional Approval exempts these specific Husqvarna platforms, along with models already sold in the U.S., from that list.

New models are slated for 2027 U.S. launch

The four approved platforms are expected to launch in the U.S. market in 2027. Glen Instone, CEO of Husqvarna Group, said the approval validates the company's quality and security standards, including data-handling practices aligned with EU consumer privacy rules.

Husqvarna already serves 500-plus U.S. golf courses

Instone noted the U.S. is a strategically important market for robotic lawn mowers, where Husqvarna already serves more than 500 golf courses through its professional robotic mowing solutions. He pointed to limited residential penetration to date as a source of significant growth potential in the years ahead.

North America accounted for 24% of Husqvarna's 2025 net sales

Husqvarna Group reported net sales of SEK 46.6 billion in 2025, with U.S. operations representing 24% of total Group net sales that year. The company has identified North America as a region with strong growth potential for robotic mowers in both residential and professional segments, and stated an ambition to accelerate market penetration in the U.S.
