San Francisco – November 06, 2026 -- InsurGrid, a policy data and AI workflow platform for property and casualty agencies, launched Policy Change Monitoring, which re-checks connected client policies every 15 days and alerts agents to cancellations, non-renewals and material changes before renewal.
The tool refreshes declaration pages and policy data automatically. AI-powered extraction converts each updated document into structured data. Policy data collected at intake previously went stale once saved, and agents typically learned of premium changes, limit adjustments or non-renewals only when the client called or the renewal arrived.
Shopping and non-renewal rates are rising in auto and homeowners lines
InsurGrid cited J.D. Power's 2025 U.S. Insurance Shopping Study, which found that 57% of auto insurance customers shopped for a new policy in the past year, up from 49% and the highest rate in the study's 19-year history. A Senate Budget Committee review of non-renewal data from 23 insurers, covering about two-thirds of the U.S. homeowners market, found non-renewals rising from 2018 through 2023. The highest rates were in flood- and wildfire-exposed counties.
Each refresh is classified into five named policy events
Every refresh is tagged Cancelled, Reinstated, Renewed, Not Renewed or Changed. A field-by-field view shows old and new values for premium, limits, deductibles, coverages, vehicles, drivers and dwellings. Cancellation and non-renewal findings trigger an immediate email to the agency.
Agency admins choose which events trigger alerts and whether they go to the client's assigned agent, all admins or selected team members. Refreshes update records in place without creating duplicate clients or policies.
A refresh is applied only if the full update succeeds. If a carrier login changes or a refresh fails, existing data stays unchanged. The policy card then shows a "Sync paused - action needed" status with the reason, and the agency is notified so the client can reconnect.
Agencies can use alerts to remarket, re-quote and win back former clients
A non-renewal alert gives a producer time to remarket before the term ends. A premium increase, lowered limit or removed driver gives a reason to review coverage. A cancellation alert lets a customer service rep follow up before a coverage gap develops. Agencies can also monitor policies of clients who left in the past year, turning a premium jump or non-renewal into a win-back opening. A licensed producer reviews every alert.
CEO Rohit Mittal said, "Agents shouldn't learn about a non-renewal or a premium jump from an upset client."
InsurGrid reports 2,500 agents, 450 carriers and $250 million in closed premium
The platform serves more than 2,500 agents and connects to more than 450 carriers. It has collected more than 100,000 declaration pages and processed more than 500,000 through AI extraction. InsurGrid says it has supported more than $250 million in closed premium.
Rollout covers the $99-per-month plan with carrier-login limits
Policy Change Monitoring is rolling out to customers on the $99-per-month plan. Automatic refresh applies only to supported carrier connections that do not require multi-factor authentication at each login. Policies collected by manual upload are not refreshed automatically.
InsurGrid also released three other features. Commercial policy comparisons can be exported as PDF or Word files across eight lines, including general liability, BOP, workers' compensation, commercial auto and cyber. A policy extraction API with API-key authentication is open to agencies and technology partners. Agents can also export client documents and policy data to their agency management system and track push status from the dashboard.
