Schütz is exhibiting the CORMASTER® honeycomb material at JEC World, a high-tech product that can be shaped into a wide variety of shapes thanks to its excellent processability, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
State-of-the-art composites for high-tech and energy-efficient applications: at JEC World, Schütz Composites will be presenting the wide range of applications for its lightweight materials and their numerous advantages. Exhibits at the company’s booth (D50 / Hall 6) will include a new solution for aircraft floor panels developed in cooperation with Airbus and Satair.
Schütz Composites will be presenting many different areas of application for its high-tech CORMASTER® material, which combines the highest mechanical strength and resistance with an extremely light weight thanks to its honeycomb shape. The material is also resistant to extreme heat and humidity as well as to corrosion from oils, water and paraffin. The aramid paper-based material is used wherever low weight and maximum stability are required. The modern honeycomb material offers outstanding processability. Whether used as sandwich or engineered panels, milled or formed parts or curved sandwich panels from the autoclave – CORMASTER® honeycombs are suitable both for load-bearing structural parts and for high-quality interior design.
New floor panels for the aerospace industry
The production engineering skills of Schütz Composites combined with its expertise in modern aircraft construction is evident, for example, in the new ASFP floor panels (Airbus semi-finished floor panels). These were developed by Schütz in cooperation with Airbus and Satair, a leading global supplier of spare parts for civil aviation. The semi-finished product sets new standards in the field of PAX and cargo floor panels. Airbus operators worldwide benefit from excellent performance, weight savings and many other advantages. The semi-finished products can be installed as floor panels directly on site and can be used in all seating, aisle, galley and cargo areas. To ensure a consistently high level of production, all process steps – from development to delivery – at Schütz Composites are certified according to EN ISO 9001 and EN 9100.
Schütz Composites’ lightweight honeycomb materials are used in modern aircraft construction as well as in a variety of applications in vehicle construction and racing. Schütz is the Official Technical Partner and Official Supplier of professional sailor Boris Herrmann and his team Malizia, and contributes technical know-how and many years of experience in the construction of racing yachts to the partnership. For example, the deck mould for the new boat of the internationally successful team was manufactured at the Schütz Composites plant in Siershahn. In addition, the company has produced numerous components made of CORMASTER® honeycomb materials for the Malizia – Seaexplorer, and most recently also supplied milled carbon parts.
At JEC World, 1,300 exhibitors from 112 countries will be presenting their composite products and services for many applications, ranging from automotive construction, aerospace, maritime transport, plants, machines, pipes and tanks to medicine and leisure sports. The trade fair takes place in Paris from 25 – 27 April 2023.
