Paris – September 18, 2026 -- Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) has been selected by Intuitive Machines to provide ground station and satellite operations support for NASA's EAGLE VSWIR mission, targeted for launch in 2028.
KSAT will operate the IM 300 spacecraft carrying JPL's VSWIR instrument
The Explorer for Artemis Geology, Lunar, and Earth mission will host NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Visible to Shortwave Infrared instrument aboard Intuitive Machines' IM 300 spacecraft. The sensor will measure ground and water temperature, snow reflectivity, active geologic processes, vegetation traits, and algal biomass, while also testing technology relevant to future lunar and Mars exploration.
KSAT provides Integrated Mission Services covering global ground stations and operations
Under the agreement between NASA, Intuitive Machines, and KSAT, KSAT will deliver its Integrated Mission Services package, combining global ground station access with satellite operations services for the mission's full lifecycle.
Executives cite predictable-cost commercial infrastructure as key to mission success
Dan Adams, General Manager of KSAT Inc., said the company aims to provide NASA with mature commercial solutions with predictable costs. Rizwan Parvez, Senior Director of Business Development at Intuitive Machines, said the partnership combines Intuitive Machines' spacecraft and mission integration capabilities with KSAT's ground station network to deliver resilient end-to-end services for NASA JPL's EAGLE-VSWIR mission.
