Raleigh – October 13, 2026 -- Ledger Run, a clinical trial financial management provider, has appointed former Cytel and Oracle product executive Anne Pelz as Vice President of Product and is increasing R&D spending to build an AI-powered, end-to-end financial platform.
Pelz brings more than two decades of life sciences technology experience
Pelz began her career in product management at PHT Corporation, later acquired by Clario, where she led development of what became Clario's cornerstone mobile tool. She then moved to Parexel, managing medical imaging software development and working as a solutions consultant for its eCOA division. As vice president of product at Cytel, she helped build and launch a clinical trials management platform, before taking a similar executive role at Oracle. She holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Yale University and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
Ledger Run targets manual invoice processing with new AI
The company is backing the hire with stepped-up R&D investment and new AI aimed at the industry's biggest friction points. One example is automatically cross-referencing and uploading invoices across multiple systems to speed processing. The goal is to eliminate manual, error-prone administrative work for sponsors and contract research organizations (CROs).
CEO John Chinnici said the financial back-office in clinical research runs on manual work, which is "precisely where AI shines brightest." He said Pelz will guide the roadmap for a next-generation platform intended to automate financial processing and drive growth.
Site payments get faster remittance and more transparency
Ledger Run is also working to give trial sites greater clarity and faster remittance. Pelz said she wants a platform that lets sites focus on patients and running trials rather than chasing payments.
Pelz will appear at two industry events in October
Ledger Run will be at booth #207 at the SCRS Global Site Solutions Summit in Orlando, Oct. 15-18. Pelz will also be at booth #71 at the OCT New England meeting in Boston, Oct. 27-28.
