Gothenburg – October 06, 2026 -- MacGregor has secured an order from Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd to equip four Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) with three-dimensional motion-compensated cranes and Horizon gangway systems. The contract is booked into MacGregor's fourth-quarter 2026 order intake.
Four Skywalker-class vessels head to Norwegian operator IWS Fleet by 2030
The CSOVs will be delivered from the shipyard to Integrated Wind Solutions ASA subsidiary IWS Fleet during 2029 and 2030. The vessels are built to the Skywalker class design, which has seen strong market uptake for offshore wind commissioning and service operations.
Order marks a repeat win for MacGregor's offshore equipment line
Shanshan Xu, SCM Director at Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment, cited the technical fit between MacGregor's equipment and the CSOVs' operational requirements as the basis for the selection. Lucie Addicks, Executive Vice President of Offshore Solutions at MacGregor, said the repeat order reflects the close collaboration built with shipyard and vessel owner partners over previous Skywalker-class projects.
Global service network to support equipment through delivery and operation
Following handover, MacGregor's global service network will support the cranes and gangways to maintain uptime during offshore wind commissioning and maintenance activities. MacGregor reported sales of approximately EUR 830 million in 2025 and employs about 2,000 people across 30 countries.
