Traunstein – October 29, 2026 -- MaxSolar GmbH is now delivering power from 36.5 MWp of German solar capacity to SAP SE under a ten-year corporate power purchase agreement (PPA), after the second of two projects entered operation.
Two solar parks in Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein supply the contract
The PPA covers the 25 MWp Memmendorf park in Saxony and the Pahlen park in Schleswig-Holstein, which has roughly 11.5 MWp. Memmendorf has fed power into the grid since April 2026. Pahlen was commissioned in August 2026, so both projects now deliver under the agreement.
The contract provides for physical power delivery under a pay-as-nominated model. Guarantees of origin are supplied for the electricity delivered.
MaxSolar ties the SAP deal to rising data center power demand
According to MaxSolar, artificial intelligence, cloud services and data center expansion are changing electricity demand in Europe's digital economy. Reliable access to competitively priced renewable power is becoming a bigger factor in long-term energy procurement and infrastructure planning for technology and software companies.
CEO Christoph Strasser said reliable access to affordable green power is turning into a decisive infrastructure issue for Europe's digital economy. In his view, the SAP agreement shows how long-term partnerships can match renewable generation capacity with lasting corporate demand.
Developer targets integrated energy infrastructure for data centers
MaxSolar plans to develop and supply integrated energy infrastructure for data centers and other energy-intensive technology sites. Depending on site requirements, concepts could combine renewable generation, grid connection infrastructure, battery storage and structured long-term power procurement.
The company cites grid capacity access and reliable supply as increasingly decisive for whether new digital infrastructure projects can be built. It reports a project pipeline of 6.1 GW across six locations in Germany.
Commercial Director Anwar Darwich said the start of physical delivery from both projects shows what a corporate PPA is meant to achieve: matching renewable generation to real corporate demand.
