The company says mismanaged referrals can cost practices up to 10% of their revenue, and that most practices cannot measure the loss until a system tracks it.
Medsender's AI sorts and routes faxes before staff touch them
The platform integrates directly with ModMed EMA to automate the referral workflow. Its AI reads each incoming fax, identifies referrals, labels and categorizes the document, and routes it to the right person. An AI agent can process referrals autonomously. Coordinators work from a single dashboard that tracks each referred patient from fax to scheduled appointment, synced to ModMed EMA.
Founder and co-CEO Zain Qayyum said reaching more than 100 ModMed customers in 16 months shows the market was waiting for a dedicated solution.
Anne Arundel region lifts referral conversion from 20% to 62%
Anne Arundel Plastic Surgery and Dermatology, which operates more than 110 locations with 325 providers, uses Medsender alongside ModMed EMA. Brittany Dimitri, director of operations support, said one region raised its referral conversion rate from 20% to 62%, adding hundreds of new appointments per week.
Across its customer base, Medsender reports up to 85% faster referral processing and two to three times more referred patients converting to scheduled appointments, without new hires. These figures are company-reported.
