Innsbruck – October 27, 2026 -- Congress Messe Innsbruck (CMI) has appointed Igor Palka, a Messe Berlin division head, as its new managing director, effective March 1, 2027.

Palka brings more than 20 years of trade fair and congress experience to CMI

Palka was born in Munich in 1983 and has worked in the trade fair, congress and events industry both nationally and internationally. He was responsible for several industrial trade fairs and for an international subsidiary of Messe München. That role gave him experience in international markets, particularly in Asia.

Palka currently runs technology fairs and internationalization at Messe Berlin

At Messe Berlin he heads the division covering technology fairs, new business development and internationalization. He is a member of the company's management team and is responsible for developing new business fields and the company's international orientation.

Supervisory board chair Perger led the selection process

Andreas Perger, chairman of the supervisory board, led the appointment process. He said Palka has the profile CMI needs as a reliable, modern partner in the trade fair, congress and events sector.

CMI said Palka is expected to drive the company's further development and set new impulses across its fair, congress and event business. Palka described Innsbruck as an internationally established location with significant potential and thanked the shareholders for their trust.
