Mistlabs Launches Ambi After $26M Pre-A Round Led by Luminous, Huaqin

San Francisco – October 12, 2026 -- Mistlabs, a U.S. developer of cross-platform ambient intelligence, has launched its Ambi system out of beta on Apple devices, backed by US$26 million in Pre-A funding led by Luminous Ventures and Huaqin. The capital will fund development of the company's standalone AI wearable, which is due later this year.

Ambi is available on Apple devices running iOS 18 and on Macs, including iPhone, Apple Watch, MacBook and Mac. Mistlabs says agent-to-agent communication between AI-enabled devices will follow in the coming months.

Ambi runs real-time reasoning across multiple devices

The system builds a continuous contextual picture of its user across devices instead of waiting for a prompt. Its 'Routine' feature calls on multiple agents to perform recurring tasks. In a meeting about competitors, for example, Ambi can fact-check the conversation as it happens. It can also cross-reference competing products and draft a proposal on the user's MacBook before the meeting ends.

The system flags irregularities, missing information or new developments after a meeting has ended. Its memory carries routines and ongoing actions between an iPhone, Apple Watch and MacBook.

Mistlabs plans agent-to-agent negotiation within user-granted permissions

When two users with Ambi-compatible devices attend the same meeting, their agents can communicate with each other. Each agent draws on its own understanding of its user, identifies where priorities align, surfaces potential disagreements and suggests outcomes that account for both sides. The company says this will operate within permissions users grant.

CEO Peter Mo said most AI platforms are built around completing tasks. He described Ambi as a step toward AI that acts in real time, sometimes before the user thinks to ask.

Mistlabs designs Ambi with audio not stored by default

Mistlabs says Ambi is designed with user privacy in mind and does not store audio by default. The system retains a user profile in memory covering preferences, priorities and communication and work styles.

Mistlabs extends Ambi to purpose-built wearable hardware

The company is developing its own wearable AI device, which it says will give Ambi a richer understanding of the user and surrounding context. Mo said the move into standalone hardware sets the stage for Ambi to extend across new device types. Mistlabs says more context should make Ambi's memory, recommendations and routines more personalized over time.
