Cambridge, Mass. – September 15, 2026 -- MIT Technology Review will cap in-person attendance at its EmTech Future 2026 conference to 500 participants, running September 29 through October 1 on the MIT campus and online under the theme "Convergence."
Event examines intersection of AI, quantum computing, and energy systems
The reimagined flagship conference from MIT Technology Review will use keynotes, interviews, and guided experiences to explore how AI, quantum technologies, and energy infrastructure are beginning to intersect. Agenda tracks include "At the Frontier of Intelligence," covering reasoning and multimodal AI systems, and "At the Quantum Frontier," focused on breakthroughs moving quantum computing from lab to practical deployment.
Vanguard signs on as presenting partner alongside IDEO and MIT programs
Vanguard, the investment management firm, will serve as Presenting Partner for the event. Additional partners include Veridect, IDEO, the MIT Industrial Liaison Program and Startup Exchange, and the MIT Museum.
Speaker lineup draws executives from Google DeepMind, Nvidia, and Microsoft
Confirmed speakers include Raia Hadsell, VP of Research at Google DeepMind; Krysta Svore, Vice President of Applied Research for Quantum Computing at Nvidia; and Jaime Teevan, Chief Scientist and Technical Fellow at Microsoft. Mark Gorenberg, Chair of the MIT Corporation, and Evelyn Wang, MIT's Vice President for Energy & Climate, will also speak, alongside author Cory Doctorow.
Hybrid ticket buyers gain access to inaugural five-day MIT Future Fest
A hybrid ticket to EmTech Future 2026 includes access to the inaugural MIT Future Fest, a five-day festival opening the Institute's campus to external visitors for science and technology programming. The "Into the Institute" track will offer curated visits to active MIT research environments in quantum computing, robotics, advanced manufacturing, and nuclear science.
A last-call ticket pricing window closes September 27, 2026, ahead of the conference start date two days later.
