Cambridge, Mass. – September 12, 2026 -- MIT Technology Review has released its 2026 list of 35 Innovators Under 35, selecting the honorees from 550 nominations reviewed by a panel of 44 expert judges over several months.
Selection process spans AI, climate, biotech and computing fields
The annual list, now in its third decade, identifies young scientists, entrepreneurs, and engineers building technology across artificial intelligence, climate change, biotechnology, computing, and robotics. This year's cohort includes a researcher developing methods to help prevent age-related vision loss, a founder building more efficient chips for data center energy recycling, and an entrepreneur training AI agents to better understand real-world context for decision-making.
Past honorees include founders of Instagram, Spotify, and AMD leadership
The list has previously recognized individuals who later shaped major segments of the technology industry, including Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, Spotify's Daniel Ek, AMD CEO Lisa Su, and AI researcher Ilya Sutskever.
