MTB Closes 61 CNC and Fabrication Lots in Oct. 28 Auction

CHICAGO – October 28, 2026 -- Machine Tool Bids (MTB) will begin closing 61 lots of CNC machining, fabrication, EDM and laser cutting equipment at 11:00 AM Central Time on Wednesday, October 28, in its Open CNC & Fabrication Auction.

Lineup features Mazak, Haas, Mitsubishi, BLM, Bystronic and Amada machines

The equipment comes from facilities in the US and Canada. Featured lots include a 2018 BLM LT5 tube laser, a 2016 Mitsubishi EA28VM Advance EDM sinker, a 2014 Mazak VCU 500C 3X vertical machining center and a 2008 Mazak Variaxis 500-5X II 5-axis machining center. A 2008 Mazak QTN 450II CNC lathe and a 2019 Haas VF-2SS vertical machining center are also listed.

Fabrication and finishing lots include a 2005 Bystronic 150-ton hydraulic press brake, an Amada Apelio II-357 CO2 laser and a 2014 Kasto KastoWIN A 5.6 horizontal band saw. The sale also lists 2015 Excetek W350G and W500G wire EDM machines and a 2019 Desktop Metal Studio System 1 metal 3D printing setup.

MTB holds Open Auctions on the first and third Wednesday of every month

The recurring schedule runs alongside specialized single-facility auctions. Open Auctions pool equipment from multiple sellers across North America on one bidding platform. MTB says the model lets sellers turn surplus machinery into cash in weeks, not months.

MTB adds rewards program and AI chatbot Chip to its buyer experience

MTB describes its auction rewards program as the industry's only one. It offers exclusive benefits for first-time buyers and what the company calls an industry-first loyalty program for return customers on each purchase. The company has also introduced Chip, an AI-powered chatbot built to give buyers immediate answers and speed up communication with the MTB team during the auction process.
