Sales and support outgrow engineering, which remains the largest function

Engineering and data roles account for 25% of all hires through Multiplier, the largest single function. Continued volatility around H-1B visas has remained a driving force behind that demand. Customer support hiring grew 59%, also outpacing the 53% platform average.

Sales is now the top hiring function in several mature international markets: Australia (28%), Germany (26%) and the UK (22%).

"As work goes global, decisions can no longer rely on blind instinct or outdated surveys," said Sagar Khatri, Co-Founder and CEO of Multiplier. He said the data is broken down by country, role, seniority and industry, and refreshed every quarter.

The dataset spans 24 months ending June 2026 and covers EOR employees, contractors and freelancers. Every figure rests on at least 50 hires, and figures where a single customer makes up more than 35% of the data were omitted. The tool includes profiles for 20 key global hiring markets.
