Daleville, Virginia – September 16, 2026 -- Munters has completed an expansion of its data center cooling campus in Daleville, Virginia, adding manufacturing, training and testing space to scale production of customized cooling systems for AI and high-performance computing facilities.
Daleville site becomes largest of five global Data Center Technologies plants
The campus now spans 565,000 square feet (52,000 m2) and employs close to 600 people, making it the largest of Munters' five dedicated manufacturing facilities for its Data Center Technologies business area worldwide. The site produces the company's full data center cooling portfolio, including air side economizers, the patented SyCool Split, CRAHs, fan coil arrays and coolant distribution units.
Chiller production relocates from Italy to Virginia
The expansion has enabled Munters to begin local manufacturing of chillers, a product line previously produced in Italy. Among the units now built in Daleville is the Circlemiser chiller, which uses cylindrical condensing coils to cut energy consumption and total power requirements compared with typical air-cooled chillers.
New facilities target skills gap in cooling infrastructure
The expanded campus houses the Munters Service Academy alongside new production test stands and a chiller laboratory equipped with an advanced environmental chamber. Stefan Aspman, President of Munters Data Center Technologies, said the rapid growth of AI and high-performance computing is driving new demands on energy, water and physical infrastructure supporting digital buildout. Frank Pellegrino, SVP Sales & Strategy for the business area and incoming President, said manufacturing capacity alone is insufficient without skilled personnel and service capabilities to keep customer systems running efficiently over their lifetime.
