Providence – October 16, 2026 -- Nabsys 2.0, LLC has released RepX, a cloud-based pipeline that can analyze up to 23 disease-associated repeat expansion loci in a single, low-cost run, according to the company.
RepX is available through the Nabsys Navigator cloud platform. It processes Electronic Genome Mapping (EGM) data generated on the OhmX Platform.
EGM reads single ultra-long DNA molecules without amplification or ligation
Repeat expansions are linked to numerous inherited disorders but remain difficult to characterize. EGM analyzes individual ultra-long DNA molecules without amplification or ligation, which avoids biases tied to those processes. Researchers can examine the distribution of expansion sizes and investigate repeat instability within each allele.
One whole-genome dataset supports repeat, structural and copy number analyses
RepX runs on data from the standard OhmX VOLT Whole Genome Kit. The same dataset can also support genome-wide structural variant and copy number variant analyses, so labs do not need a separate assay for repeat work.
Within Nabsys Navigator, RepX joins SV-Discover, which handles genome-wide structural variant analysis, and SV-Verify, which confirms structural variants identified by other technologies. Integrated visualization tools support all three.
Founder and CEO Barrett Bready, M.D., said RepX pairs single-molecule insight into how expansions vary within an allele with the potential for low-cost, multi-locus analysis, advancing the company's goal of making single-molecule genomics accessible to every lab.
Nabsys shows RepX at ASHG 2026 in Montréal with five posters
Nabsys will demonstrate RepX and Nabsys Navigator at Booth #501 during the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) 2026 Annual Meeting, October 20-24 in Montréal, Canada.
Two of the company's five posters address CRISPR/Cas9 work on EGM. Kasra Tabatabaei, Ph.D., presents "CRISPR/Cas9 Customization of Electronic Genome Mapping Repeat Expansion Assays" (#8132W). John Thompson, Ph.D., presents the Reviewers' Choice poster "CRISPR/Cas9 Optimization by Electronic Genome Mapping" (#5008F).
The OhmX Platform, Nabsys Navigator and RepX are for Research Use Only and not for use in diagnostic procedures.
