Hamburg – September 15, 2026 -- NDR secured four Deutsche Fernsehpreis 2026 awards across satire, documentary and fiction categories, the German public broadcaster confirmed.
Satire team wins Best Entertainment Script for October 2025 extra 3 episode
Dietmar Jacobs and Christian Ehring received the Best Entertainment Script award for the October 23, 2025 extra 3 episode titled "Streit ums Stadtbild – Merz poltert." Extra 3, hosted by Ehring, marks its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a lineup expansion that adds comedian Michael Mittermeier, entertainer Riccardo Simonetti and actress Collien Fernandes alongside existing cast members Oliver Kalkofe, Maxi Schafroth and Sarah Bosetti.
Documentary crew honored for Bundeswehr mine-diver training series
Eike Köhler, Kim Kristin Mauch and Björn Kurtenbach won Best Camera for Information/Documentary for the six-part series "Minentaucher – Der harte Weg in die Elite der Bundeswehr," which follows eleven candidates through apnea training, deep dives, forced marches and helicopter jumps into the Baltic Sea during a specialized mine-clearing unit course.
NDR co-production earns two fiction awards for police drama
As co-producer alongside ARD, SWR, W&B Television and EPO-Film, NDR was recognized for "Nichte des Polizisten" in two categories: Rolf Basedow and Nicole Armbruster won Best Fiction Script, while Anna Nekarda took Best Fiction Editing.
NDR Director General Hendrik Lünenborg said the recognition across multiple categories reflects the sustained work of staff at the Hamburg headquarters and the broadcaster's four regional studios, crediting creative personnel both on-screen and behind the camera as the network's core strength.
Extra 3's editorial team has also launched standalone spin-off formats targeting younger audiences in 2026, including "Der reale Irrsinn – Die Show," extending the satire brand across linear TV, the ARD Mediathek streaming platform and digital channels.
