Books replaces Donna Morea as chairman, while she stays on as a director
Books takes the chair from Donna Morea, who remains on the board. He will guide the AI-native specialty platform's long-term strategy from the board level.
COO Patrick Rooney takes over as interim CEO during the search
Net Health appointed Rooney, its chief operating officer, to ensure operational continuity. The board is prioritizing candidates with a proven record of driving technological innovation and scaling enterprise-native artificial intelligence across specialized clinical platforms.
Books leaves after three years marked by an Azure migration and two acquisitions
Books became CEO in October 2023. Under him, Net Health completed its migration to Microsoft Azure and added acquisitions including Alinea and Limber Health. He also reorganized the company into divisions led by dedicated presidents.
Books described the move back to ECI as a personal and difficult decision. He said he has complete confidence in Rooney as he and the board lead the CEO search.
Morea credited Books with strengthening the platform, portfolio and divisional structure. She said the board oversaw a period of significant modernization and expansion into new markets. "Momentum continues," she said.
